Terms of use
Last updated: 8 August 2026
Agreement
These terms govern your use of investforbalance.com and your enrolment in any Invest for Balance course or members' space. Invest for Balance is operated by Shonan Kothari, based in Belgium. By using this website or enrolling, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or enrol.
Education, not advice
Everything published by Invest for Balance - this website, the course, the members' space, the live and recorded calls, the journal, the emails, and the social media accounts - is for general educational and informational purposes only. It does not constitute investment advice, tax advice, legal advice, accounting advice, or any other regulated professional advice.
Nothing here is intended as, or should be interpreted as, a personal recommendation, or as being suitable for any specific person. It does not take into account your objectives, financial situation, or risk profile.
Nothing here constitutes an offer, solicitation, or recommendation to buy or sell any security, financial instrument, or investment product in any jurisdiction. Any examples are illustrative only and are not recommendations. There are no actionable calls to trade - examples are for learning only.
Regulatory status
Invest for Balance is an education business. It does not provide regulated investment services. It is not registered with SEBI as an Investment Adviser under the SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013, and it is not authorised as an investment firm under Belgian or EU financial regulation.
Investing involves risk
Investing involves risk, including the possible loss of capital. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. Any returns shown may be simplified and may not reflect fees, taxes, or trading costs. The value of investments can go down as well as up, and you may get back less than you put in.
Your decisions are yours
You are solely responsible for your investment decisions. Conduct your own research, and consider seeking advice from a licensed or regulated professional adviser before acting on anything you learn here.
This course gives you knowledge and frameworks - it does not tell you what to do with your money. Your personal circumstances, goals, and risk tolerance should guide your choices. Take what resonates, adapt what needs adjusting, and always prioritise your own financial wellbeing.
Accuracy and dates
The course and journal cite sources and dates for factual claims, and I work to keep material current. Markets, regulations, and tax rules change, sometimes quickly - always check the current position before acting, particularly on tax and cross-border questions. Where this site links to external websites or tools, those links are provided for convenience. I do not control their content and receive no commission from anything you do there.
Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 years old to enrol. Your account and course access are personal to you: please do not share your login, redistribute course materials, or give others access to paid content. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure.
Payments and access
Course prices are shown at checkout in the applicable currency and are payable as a single payment unless stated otherwise. Enrolment includes twelve months of access to the course, the members' space, and the monthly live calls, measured from your enrolment date. After twelve months, continued access to the members' space and the calls is offered at a lower renewal rate; access to the course material you have purchased continues.
What is included, and what is still being built
Parts 1 to 4 of the course are complete and available now. Parts 5 to 7 are in production and expected through early 2027, released one part at a time. Enrolled students receive them at no additional cost as each part is released. If Parts 5, 6 and 7 are not all published and accessible to enrolled students by 30 June 2027, students who enrolled before that date may request a partial refund of ₹15,000 (India edition) or €200 (NRI edition) by writing to shonan@investforbalance.com within 60 days of that date.
Refunds
Course purchases are non-refundable, except under the delivery commitment above. You are buying access to educational material that is delivered immediately on purchase, and the course page sets out clearly what is included and when each part opens - please read it before you join, and write to me first if anything is unclear.
Nothing in this clause limits the statutory rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country of residence. In particular, buyers in the European Union may have a statutory right of withdrawal for digital content, which is lost once you expressly request immediate access and acknowledge that you lose it. Where your statutory rights are more generous than this clause, they apply.
Intellectual property
All website content and course materials - videos, scripts, notes, downloadable resources - are owned by Invest for Balance or licensed to us. Enrolment gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own learning.
You may not record, copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, publish, or create derivative works from any part of this material - in whole or in part - or use it to build a competing course or programme, without written permission. Access is logged. Where I find material being shared or reused without permission, access is revoked immediately, and I will pursue all remedies available under Belgian, EU, and Indian copyright law, including takedown notices and legal action to recover damages and costs.
The members' space and calls
The members' space is a place for members to talk to each other. It is not a support channel, and I do not undertake to read or respond to posts there. Questions for me are submitted through the question form and answered on the monthly live call, at the level of concepts and principles - never as personal recommendations of what to buy. Be respectful and keep other members' information confidential. We may remove content or members that put the space's safety or purpose at risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Shonan Kothari and Invest for Balance disclaim liability for any loss arising from investment decisions you make, or from your use of, or inability to use, this website or the course. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time; the current version will always be on this page. Material changes affecting enrolled students will be communicated by email.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Belgium, without affecting mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.
